A remake of the film 50 First Dates (2004)

The result of a 48 Hour film challenge follows the infamous Count Dracula trying his hand at dating over the years.

Vinny, a millennial from London, joins a dating app for the first time while living in lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic. With five potential female matches, Vinny must pluck up courage to video date with wildly different personalities, starring Mandip Gill and Georgia Hirst. The viewer’s choices will define Vinny’s interactions with each date and their interest in seeing him again. Amidst a branching, multi-directional chain of conversation topics and deep-dive questions, Vinny is faced with digital game dates, awkward scenarios and unexpected truths. Five Dates is an exploration of the unpredictable modern dating experience, which follows an average single man as he navigates the world of digital dating. Through his journey, the decisions the viewer makes for him will challenge their own conceptions of attraction and compatibility.

Follows Saville Row textile pattern designer Kate, who lives in the quaint village of Blexford, England next door to her father Mac, who is long-divorced from Kate’s mother Delilah, a globe-trotting American always on an adventure. When not at work, Kate looks after Mac, who’s recovering from a motorbike accident and is inclined to spend his days sitting in his recliner. Her best friend Laura signs her up for The 12 Dates of Christmas – a holiday-themed matchmaking program in the days leading up to the holiday featuring carefully curated, yuletide dating experiences, in an attempt to get Kate out of her rut.

Questions were answered on a keyboard (A-Z) rather than the standard buzzer format. The first contestant to press first letter of the correct answer won the points/letter for that particular question. There were three contestants per show over three rounds, each round eliminating one player. Round one was a standard definition of a word, and you pressed the first letter of it on your keyboard. If you get the letter and answer correct, you won that letter. Once four letters (or more0 were won by a single player or more, they then had to create a word from them. The score was counted in words and letters, so someone with 1 word and 4 letters would beat someone with 0 words and 6 letters. The lowest scorer at the end of five minutes was eliminated. Second round was like a hidden crossword grid, with the name of a person hidden in it. As you guessed first letters of words (like Round 1), a few more squares were revealed, and a clue to the famous person was given.

Mike and Dave are young, adventurous, fun-loving brothers who tend to get out of control at family gatherings. Once they arrive on the island, however, Mike and Dave realize that their companions are ready to get wild and party.
